Connect and choose an account
- Open the app and choose Connect Google. Sign in to the account you want to use and approve the requested permission.
- Use Add Google account to connect another account.
- Under Default when opening files, choose Ask every time or a connected account. In ask mode, select the destination before the upload begins.
Open files with a double-click
On first launch, the app requests default opening for XLSX, CSV and XLS. Approve any macOS confirmation. The setup panel shows which formats are ready and lets you retry. If macOS does not apply a change, in Finder select a spreadsheet and press Command-I. Under Open with, choose Open Sheets with 1 Click, then Change All. Repeat for XLSX, XLS and CSV as needed.
How the five free opens work
An open counts after the file is successfully uploaded, converted and handed to your browser. Failed opens do not count. The allowance is shared across connected accounts on that Mac. After five opens, use the one-time unlimited unlock. To recover a previous purchase, choose Restore purchase with the same Apple Account.
A file did not convert
Check your connection and Google account, and make sure the file is no larger than 50 MB. Google converts the spreadsheet; some Excel features may not transfer. If a connection was interrupted, check Drive before trying again to avoid a duplicate.
Where are the originals?
Original files stay on your Mac by default. You can optionally move them to Trash after a successful upload and open. Every import creates a new Google Sheet. Later edits do not sync back to the local file.
Remove a Google account
Select the account and choose Remove account. To revoke its Google permission too, use Google Account connections. Existing spreadsheets remain in Drive.
